Former Tottenham Hotspur marksman Teddy Sheringham believes Harry Kane may start considering his future with the club, given their struggles to compete for regular silverware. The north London side have failed to win any of the previous four matches in the Premier League and this has dropped them right into the top-four battle with a genuine chance of missing out on Champions League football next term.

Speaking on BBC Radio 5 Live, the former Spurs striker said that Kane would want to some form of silverware but that has been far from coming at the Capital outfit. He added that the England international may question his future with the club in the forthcoming years, should they fail to earn their decade-long wait for a trophy.

He said: “Harry will want to win stuff. He will be wanting to play at the very top. It’s going to be a big factor with Harry that Tottenham are moving into a new stadium – but they have to win something. There is going to come a time in Harry’s career when he is going to say: ‘I can’t be a nearly man any more. We have to go one step further for me to win things in my football career,’”

Tottenham were within five points off the table-toppers at the beginning of February and there was the suggestion that they could make a late charge for the Premier League crown. However, their form has since nosedived and they are currently 13 points off Manchester City at the top after failing to win any of the previous four league matches.

Despite this, they can still compete for silverware through the Champions League but they remain far from favourites with the likes of Barcelona in the running. Elsewhere, the north Londoners are holding onto the top four spot with a slender advantage, but that could nullify by the end of the month where they have a difficult away trip to Liverpool.
